Maritim Hotel & International Congress Center Dresden
The former Dresden Stadtspeicher, the so-called “Erlweinspeicher” was built in 1913/14 in the old Packhof quarter. Dresden’s industry lacked storage space for tobacco, wool, spices and textiles. Neither the state nor industry was able to raise the necessary capital for this and so the construction was financed by the city and built by Hans Erlwein, the Dresden city building councillor at the time. Hans Erlwein was an architect and planned this warehouse building taking into account the traditional Dresden city silhouette. That is why it was named “Erlweinspeicher”. During the war the building was destroyed and lay fallow for many years. Only from the year 2000 on there were plans to convert the warehouse into a Maritim Hotel. Construction began in 2014 and after only 18 months of construction time, the building was opened.
Maritim Hotel Dresden
The Maritim Hotel is directly connected to the Congress Center via an underground passage. The ICD has six multifunctionally interconnectable halls on the hall level with a total capacity of 4,163 people. The stage has a size of 238 m². In addition to the “Great Hall” with more than 1,300 seats, five further conference halls are available on the ground floor. These halls can be combined. Six smaller conference halls, nine group rooms as well as offices and a restaurant for 350 people complete the extensive range of facilities.
The Elbe Cycle Route runs right next to the Congress Center. So there are plenty of opportunities for sports activities such as cycling, jogging or simply strolling along the Elbe. From the Maritim Hotel and the ICD it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the historical city centre of Dresden.
In addition to conferences, seminars and congresses, the building is the ideal venue for exhibitions, festive events or concerts. Here you can find more hotels in Dresden.
